Out to Eat in Sioux Falls: All Day Cafe
After navigating a packed parking lot, my friend and I arrived in the bustling waiting room of the All Day Cafe for Sunday morning breakfast. The hostess hastily greeted us and said the wait time was 25-30 minutes, which we expected.
During the wait, I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. The whole restaurant was open and filled with natural lighting. The soft green and stained wood furniture was pleasant on the eyes and played into the comforting environment. After only 15 minutes, we were called on and the hostess led us to our booth.
The menu had a wide selection of breakfast, which is offered the whole time they are open, sticking true to their name, as well as lunch and dinner options. The prices for entrees were typical of any other cafe, ranging from $9 for buttermilk pancakes to $16 for a walleye breakfast.
After only a short wait, our waitress came and we ordered water and drip coffee with cream to drink, which arrived promptly.
For an appetizer, we decided to order a cinnamon roll to share. For our entrees, we both ordered the farmer’s breakfast for $13, which included two farm eggs, a choice of meat, morning bread and a choice of another side.
We were pleasantly surprised when the cinnamon roll arrived. It was ginormous for its $4 price. The inside was soft, fluffy and heated to the ideal temperature. The gooey cream cheese frosting on top made the experience even more delightful.
Then, as we finished the roll, our waitress brought out our main dishes.
I first tried the scrambled eggs: They were fluffy and warm, but nothing spectacular. The three pieces of applewood smoked bacon were cooked to the perfect ratio of crunchiness and chewiness. The crispy cafe potatoes added another delicious flavor profile to the meal, which I relished in.
Each bite of the salty potatoes and bacon were filled with savory goodness, which had a nice balance with the buttered morning bread and sweet jam. My friend and I were completely obsessed with the mixture of buttery toast and the decadent, tangy, strawberry jam. We both agreed that this is some of the best toast and jam we have ever had.
By the end of the meal, we had finished all of our food and were completely satisfied. The waitress thanked us for coming with a smile, which left us with a positive attitude.
All Day Cafe’s food was nothing but amazing. Their service was quick, and their servers being attentive and helpful. The food was delectable, and the restaurant’s atmosphere was homely and aesthetically pleasing. No wonder there are always so many people there because All Day Cafe is definitely worth visiting.
